SOUTH HILL STUD

Home of Quality Coloureds

For Sale

We have a small nucleus of breeding mares and so we always have youngsters for sale as a policy not as a reason for just dispersing ones that we don't like. Our mares include Irish Draught x Thoroughbred, Pure Thoroughbred, Traditional Cob, Arab x New Forest, Registered New Forest, Coloured show pony and Native ponies. We use our own 2 stallions and occasionally well bred outside stallions to give a crop of different types and size. The youngsters shown below  gives an example of the variety that we breed each year. They are all or will be registered with CHAPS.

2 YR OLDS

Above is a 2 yr old filly by South Hill Duke out of a Vital Season mare. This filly has 2 full sisters who have been successful in the show ring as youngsters. She should make 16 hh and with her extravagant and straight movement could excel in any sphere.

Picture is another 2 yr old filly by South Hill Duke and out of a part bred Welsh mare. This mare was competing very successfully in the junior eventing world. The filly is straight moving and has a great temperament. She has a full brother competing in working hunter classes and another full brother recently sold who should make a very nice show cob.

Pictured above is something that we have been trying to breed for quite a while, a piebald traditional filly by Duke. She is Southhill Farm Molly and is out of a traditional piebald mare. She is straight moving and has plenty of mane and feather. She is to be tested for the homozygous gene and will be priced accordingly.

This 2 yr old gelding is by South Hill Farm Munchkin and out of a strawberry roan and white mare. He is registered with CHAPS and has been well handled. This young man who will make about 13.2hh.

Another 2 yr old gelding by Munchkin, but this time out of a bay and white and he should make between 12.2hh and 13hh. He has been handled and should be a very nice child's pony. He is registered with CHAPS.

This 2 yr old gelding is by Munchkin and out of our Welsh A mare and so is a full brother to a filly that has won at National Coloured level. He should make about 12hh. He has a great temperament and is showing promise for the show ring.

YEARLINGS

The young man pictured above is a full brother to Southhill Farm Molly and he will be tested as well for the homozygous gene. He is called Duke's Apprentice or Al Sugar for short. This one looks to be real stallion material. With the sad demise of his father he is no longer for sale.

This filly yearling is out of our Vital Season TB mare, so is a full sister to the 2 yr old pictured above. She is a really straight moving foal and has a friendly disposition.

Pictured above is a filly yearling by Duke out of ex race mare and she has a full sister doing well in the show ring in Scotland. She will probably make 15.3hh. She will be probably out in the showring for us in 2008.

This young lady is the youngest of our 2007 foal crop and is by Munchkin out of a registered New Forest mare and so will be eligible for part bred M&M classes.

Last but not least is the star of our 2007 pony foal crop. He is a colt yearling by Llanarth Alleycat out of Lindsey's well known show pony mare Aramilla Raindance. With this young man's pedigree the sky's the limit. He is a very upstanding yearling with a very straight and arrogant movement and we think that the first person to see him will buy him.
